New features

April 6th 2021 will see the implementation of the private sector IR35 reform. With this comes a long list of changes to the way IR35, and contractors, will be treated. We thought it only necessary to evolve our offering in line with these coming changes to offer as much support as we can in the simplest way possible. As such, below you will see a brief overview of just some of the upgrades that are now in place throughout the Status Review platform.

Read-only user access:

By adding a read-only user access function, we are able to make Status Review more accessible than ever. This function enables a read-only view of any relevant IR35 status assessments to be shown to members of the contractual chain where required by the account owner.

This not only benefits accessibility, but it also means that the IR35 process can be faster, and it is easier to keep relevant parties up to date with changes as they happen. Making the sharing of information that much easier.

Extensive library of support articles:

We have been busy collating frequently asked questions into a near exhaustive list of answers given by our expert team of assessors. Whether they are questions relating to the Status Review process, your account, or general support queries, you will find your answer in our designated Status Review Support Centre.

We are always expanding our offering of IR35 guidance materials, especially with IR35 reform waiting just around the corner. We aim to ensure that all those involved in the Status Review process feel confident in their knowledge of this complex legislation.

Enhances user-friendly design:

Among the other updates to Status Review, you will notice a renewed strength in the user-friendliness of Status Review’s design. The portal is easier than ever to navigate, allowing seamless integration for new users and other members of the contractual chain.

This includes some important site-wide terminology simplifications. We have limited use of confusing jargon and where possible ensured our descriptive text is simple to understand. In addition to this, we have included a clear progress bar for contractors completing assessments. This bar provides an exact reference point for contractors to help them manage their time.

Statistics

Status Review was initially released in 2017, this was before HMRC’s CEST tool was implemented. Since Status Reviews release, we have seen over 2,200 agencies and hiring organisations using the process. In addition to this, over 15,000 status determinations have been reached using Status Review.

As far as Qdos itself goes, we have completed over 150,000 assessments and have defended over 1,600 IR35 enquiries over the past two decades.
